Stephanie Torres and her family lived in their Rockport home for 30 years before Hurricane Harvey hit.
The water came up three feet in the home, and the mold grew four feet high in the aftermath. Stephanie wasn’t able to salvage anything in their home. Everything from clothes, to dishes, to furniture was gone. Samaritan’s Purse, with funding from the Rebuild Texas Fund, mucked and gutted the home, and then sprayed to stop mold growth.
Now, a new team is on site to help with rebuilding, including installing plumbing and electricity, with hopes to have Stephanie’s house in livable condition by January 2018.
Across Texas, teams from Samaritan’s Purse are rebuilding communities, home by home.
